Last night as I watched the honor bestowed upon folks in sports, I thought about the lives that are lived in one venue or another. The life that is perhaps only seen in the workplace or the sports arena. And then I think about the divine reparation that God has for each person. Like many nights I came out of a dream. The “problem” for me and dreams is that when I wake up I am not sure that I am “out” of the dream. So as I wandered down the steps to the living room, my thoughts were in a dream. The Missing Sacrifice
This morning I awoke to noise. Lots of it. Not in the natural, but in a dream. I was in a cafeteria or conference room. Everyone seemed to know everyone but the volume of the conversations was maddening. A pregnant woman was standing next to me and people began to make fun of her. In the middle of the night I was awakened because I began to cough. I got up, grabbed a glass of water and returned to my bed. I sat there and the situations of the last few
days began to mount up in my mind. At 2AM it always seems to be a time of just you. I needed to focus or my alternative would be to get up and “walk it off”. I called upon the Lord and He appeared to me. But “calling” someone is the easy part a lot of the time. Then you have to have a conversation. And so the conversation began. The Comfort Of The Lord
Have you ever struggled with the actions of others? Perhaps it was injustice, neglect or wrongdoing. I understand, but Jesus understands more. Hebrews 4:15 tells us that He went through hurt, pain and rejection and walked through it. The easy response to that statement is “but He was God!” And while that part is true, He left behind His godly attributes to take up earthly life as a man. Many years ago my wife and I were traveling through Toronto. Toronto is a very large city. My wife had the map on her lap and I was driving. As the road turned into 8 lanes, I said “hurry up, I am not sure where we are”. This created instant panic and I had to apologize because I really did know where we were, but was kidding around.
