Last night I had an encounter in a dream. So incredible was the dream that when I awoke, (super early) I was energized and jumped out of bed to write and bask in the encounter.
In a few short weeks my family and I will go away to the Adirondacks. Our first Johndrow vacation. Children and their children. On a lake with a boat and a beach.
So often in the world of Christianity, we have forgot the nature of having fun, times of respite and the over riding desire of family to be together. Continue reading Coming Soon – A Family Vacation!→
I am not sure why people always seem to go “towards the lowest common denominator” when it comes to believing in someone. The Bible tells us to “believe the best”. Perhaps we need to put a delay in our thinking to process to avoid the knee jerk response that creates and causes us trouble. Continue reading Love Never Gives Up→
A Fortune 100 company (Sony) has been stopped dead in its tracks. 42 million dollars to produce a movie, The Interview was “wasted”. A cyber-attack from a foreign country (North Korea) has held it up and won. Conspiracy, black hats and beliefs aside, the bottom line is this company was a casualty of “war”. (I put that in quotes because who really knows yet. I know what is being said, but…) Continue reading An Heir Of Freedom→
The enemy of our soul is alive and well, regardless of our belief or lack of belief in him. The devil and his minions move about looking to hurt, kill and destroy. I bring this up because lately I have noticed a number of folks who were struck down by a virus or disease that in many cases had slipped by undiagnosed. Ultimately each received the diagnosis by the most recent team of doctors. But in a few cases, some required 2, 3, even 4th or 5th doctors and teams. It would be one thing if the “disease” just noodled along, but in the most recent cases I had been involved in, the illness came in like gangbusters. Continue reading Destroy The Works Of The Enemy→
Today is Veterans Day in the United States. A day for honoring the men and women of our armed service. A news blog wrote this. …the most productive thing anyone outside the military can do is actually very simple and easy, they say: Strike up a conversation with a veteran. Get to know one of them in a meaningful way. There is a wide cultural gap between Americans who have no relationship with the Armed Forces and those who’ve served their country. Closing that gap is as necessary as it is long overdue.Continue reading For Those Who Have Gone Before Me- Thank You!→
This has been a week where faith has become the big topic. (Well, that and don’t let fear rock your boat.)For me one of my widest read articles this month was my article on faith. Faith is somewhat the “holy grail” of the church. People talk about it like it is mystery. And yet, at it’s core it is simply believing that which you see to be truth. Continue reading A Springboard To Faith→
A few nights ago, I was questioning my “existence”. I was not discouraged or depressed, but I definitely felt like there was a rabbit hole of sorts about me. My wife was away and God and I were having a pow wow about my life. Perhaps I had pulled out my checklist at some point. “This is good. This…not so much. This I do well. This is I stink at. Etc…” “Why am I here?” My “WISE” had turned to “WHYS”. Not necessarily the “bestest” of places to be. But I had to work through it.Continue reading Stop, Drop And Roll – It Time To Overcome The Fire Of Fear!→
Over the last few weeks, maybe months I have witnessed folks, who are only going through the motions. The world’s existence is overwhelming them. Bringing them to the ground. Crushing them. My questions is “where is your faith?” Continue reading The Wallet Of Faith→
In my dream last night I was called to inspect military systems of deployment of weaponry. Most specifically these systems dealt with observation, reconnaissance and utilization of weapons. The systems were run by folks who were settled away in underground bunkers. Continue reading The Consequences Are Real→
