Potentially Incredible

leejohndrowteamAs the Northeast faces Snomageddon (The potential of being the largest storm “ever”.)people are making changes and the storm has not arrived. Okay, I do understand wisdom and I do understand snow. I have been in New England for the most part nearly 60 years. I do not think it is “funny” to not get to work or to have trips disrupted or to have your kids home!!! But this storm or any other puts some things on the table. People Need People To Grow

leejohndrowteamWithout community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop. Dorothy Height

Last night I was fortunate to be able to celebrate a friend’s birthday at a local restaurant. A few of us gathered together together, surprising her. (Her husband had planned it!) It was amazing. As the conversations moved about the table, the friendships strengthened and the community advanced. Community is formed by relationships. As people’s lives overlap others, the community forms and advances. Continue reading People Need People To Grow

“It Is Balloon” Designed For Destiny

who-are-youThe balloon basket was empty. Here was this gorgeous, brightly colored balloon with no one to ride in it. As I got close to it, I spotted the small console. I wanted to get a closer look. I leaned up against the side of the basket and leaned in. It was then I saw a brilliant stone ring laying on the floor. It blazed brilliantly even with the small amount of light it was receiving. It seemed as though it was on fire. I thought I will pull it to the side and make sure the people will see it so it will not fall out and be lost when the balloon takes off. As I leaned over the edge of the basket a strong wind pushed the balloon. It caught me by surprise. I was over the edge and needed to right myself. But as I looked though the floor of the basket I saw the ground moving away. I was airborne. I took a moment to get fully in the basket. As I looked out, I was struck by the beauty of the day and realizing I had no control over this, I left the balloon to its own devices. Continue reading “It Is Balloon” Designed For Destiny

Mountains Change Your Perspective

ampersandAs a child nothing excited me more than driving to the Adirondacks, cruising through the mountains and then, there it was…the lake! I had dream about a mountain last night…

“The wind was whistling through the tree tops. The snow was blowing across the meadows. The outcroppings of rock seem to move under the tremendous winds. The sky was gray and angry looking. That is where we lived”, I said. Continue reading Mountains Change Your Perspective

Closing The Store

2307 001A Dream  Closing The Store

The men climbed up on ladders yanking lights from the ceiling and making a very loud noise with no care for those about them.

Maybe it was the cake or the pie or all the extra turkey and avocado I had for dinner, but I “slept through” the night. That never happens. So being awakened by a plow truck and not a dream was somewhat unusual. But I had the dream. Continue reading Closing The Store

12-30-2013 Thought – Words Made Real

changeprocessLast night before I fell asleep, I felt this in my spirit.

I was thinking about the 2014 prophecy I shared yesterday. I thought how many will read a word like that and not see it change them. Not just my words or this word, but any word.

Words Made Real

Every word that is given to you in your life has the potential to be spirit. Just as a word goes from a logos word (A “head” word-one that is read or viewed only.) to a rhema word (A “heart” word-one that occupies and is energized.) or a word that is now. (I recognize that logos is used for scripture or Jesus and rhema has to do with utterance.) You are the decider of that. Continue reading 12-30-2013 Thought – Words Made Real

Empty Chairs – An Opportunity For Blessing

empty chairsThis morning I woke, coming out to the living room and sat here for a moment. A quick rehash of what might be accomplished today was on my radar screen.   And then I looked at the floor. Four very empty children’s chairs. A part of me sees the prophetic in the picture. That if you “build” it they will come. The chairs had been moved from our destroyed home in Springfield. My wife and I had cleaned them up and put them on the floor. The first thing my grandchildren did upon arriving last night was go to sit in them excitedly.

There is something about the preparation for a child or children that excites me. These four empty chairs and a table suggested my love for them, hospitality towards them. I never look at those chairs or the pictures of my children without thinking of my love for them. Without uttering a prayer. (There is a large piece here for people. Do children feel welcome?)

Emptiness is a target for the love of the Lord. Do you feel empty? God can fill you up. Continue reading Empty Chairs – An Opportunity For Blessing

The Need For A Good Atmosphere

Just a thought?
Just a thought?

Too often we walk into a circumstance or situation and we can tell that something is off. It is at that point we get to make the determination will we accept it or reject it. My experience is that many people just get comfortable with the feeling that has been revealed to them even when it is negative. This is fine if the atmosphere you are walking in is a good one. The difficulty is when we encounter an atmosphere that is off or even demonic in nature and we accept it.

When it comes to changing atmosphere, it ultimately comes down to you and your belief of who God is within your life. If you believe you are always under circumstances and not above circumstances you will operate from that mentality. (Ephesians 1:20-23) My hope here is to encourage you to change the atmosphere. Playing Games – Too Often What We See Is Like Playing A Game

Just a thought?
Just a thought?

This morning as I thought about our local church fellowship I reflected on many of the church fellowships that I have attended over the years. The majority of the church fellowships that I have been involved in including one that I pastored for 15 years often looked at a need and went to bring reparation to the need. Too often that method has the potential to burn people out. Continue reading Playing Games – Too Often What We See Is Like Playing A Game

Paint In A Bucket? No Prophecy Can Be Like That

Hitting the target
A word for today.

When asked about prophecy, I have come to see the following conclusion. All the knowledge in the world is useless without application. Paint in a bucket has potential, but until applied…paint in the bucket with potential. Flour in a bag has potential to make a meal. But until used it is flour. And if someone requested blue walls and the can was never opened, but you put down carpet, installed counters, etc., the room would look better but you never accomplished what you were asked and called to do.

I know a lot of people who know a lot of things but have never applied it. How many have taken a class in something but never used it. Certificates on the wall do not change the world. The application of the knowledge received is what changes.

Prophecy is like that. It is not what you know but what you say.
