Some of you have read my story about the “mill pond garden”. I was out of control, to say the least. My own home, a dog, a relationship and life. And it was spring. It was time to put in a garden. And I needed seeds. Well, part of the good news was that my family owned a store. And in that store was a large rack of seeds. Charles Hart Seeds. And so the garden began its first look at life. Overcomers Or Overcome? The Answer Is Behind Door #2
Today I had to drive over one hour to a work training. On the way there I felt extremely overwhelmed. There were things coming into my mind that I never think about. I saw thoughts of suicide, homicide, depression and so many dark thoughts, I found myself weeping and crying out to the Lord. At first I thought it was me. But as soon as I got through the first turn of the company’s parking lot, the feelings lifted. Respite. What was all that I wondered. Continue reading Overcomers Or Overcome? God Isn’t Mad At You!
I meet a lot of people and a lot of them think God is mad at them. He is not.
When I was 15 it was time to get my license. Because I did not attend a public school, I was told that to drive a family car (And save money on my insurance, etc..) I would need driver’s ed. So, I had to make the decision to go to driver’s ed on Saturdays to complete it. And I did have the option of a standard.
My first driving lesson (Not in the classroom) I met Chuck Roberts. He showed up in a tan VW bug. On top was strapped a big yellow and brown sign with the name of the school. Interesting things happened over the next few weeks. I learned to drive in downtown New Haven Connecticut in rush hour! One time I was confronted with 3 “lefts” and I chose the wrong one. Chuck reached over and kept me out of the one way street! Continue reading God Isn’t Mad At You!
Community, Grace-All Important To Their Growth
I know I am jumping the gun in my order but this one is hot on my heart.
The last few days I have been in contact with some long time friends. I love them and I know my heart is broken for them. I think as you get older, you ought not feel like life is so out of control when things happen. Sometimes you truly need to look to Him. Being with Him is a relationship, the development of a lifestyle. And developing it after you have lost all your energy, your friends and your family is hard. Continue reading Community, Grace-All Important To Their Growth
No Longer A Ride On The Wild Side
This is a longer writing. I wish I knew how to keep things short, but… What I have written is a “recording” of events that are occurring and steps that are necessary in a believer’s life. As much as I hate to admit it, there are indeed fiery trials. Our job is to listen to God, reveal His glory and move in the purpose He has established for us. Simple? Some are shaking their heads “no”. The biggest thing to keep in mind as you read this, is the body of Christ is important to our purpose.
Key thought? Stay plugged in! Continue reading No Longer A Ride On The Wild Side
Close Encounters Of The God Kind
A week or so ago, I wrote on to tactics of the enemy. One was being disconnected. The other was an attack on health. I received a lot of communication from folks indicating that they were encountering one or the other, or sometimes both. The issue is not whether I correctly saw, but what we are going to do with it.
In December of 2005, I had a couple of dreams. They were brought back to me. Continue reading Close Encounters Of The God Kind
Fenced In By The Lord
Continuing on with the “garden series”. Thank you so much for the comments and thought process you have shared. To read others, simply click the “garden” category at the top.
As I drove home the other day, I drove by a beautiful little home with what clearly was going to a awesome garden. And it was fenced and had covering over it as well. The way it was designed the garden would not see larger animals like deer. On the lower part there was net that would appear to keep smaller animals out like rabbits and such. And certainly no birds would attempt to fly through the netting that hung over the trellises. Now, while I recognize this was going to be a beautiful garden who was going to get to see it? People would not be able to see through the netting and such. Sometimes that which you erect to keep others out does much to keep you in… Continue reading Fenced In By The Lord

Someone Had An Idea For A Garden
Continuing on with the “garden series”. Thank you so much for the comments and thought process you have shared. To read others, simply click the “garden” category at the top.
To have an garden, you have to have an idea for it first. And before any garden can be put in place, someone has to have an “idea” for garden. Now God was the original “I want a garden” someone. One day (Well, before time was “real” …) God decided He would create a garden called Eden. And in that garden He had a plan for people, specifically Adam and Eve. A garden with people. He had an idea for it. Continue reading Someone Had An Idea For A Garden
Have You Really Thought About What Helps You To Grow?
Another piece in the garden series. No topic in recent days has been more in need of wisdom than this one for me.
Living In New England, you often get the opportunity to smell the fresh manure that has been moved about at a farm or spread on a field. (And truth be told, some farms smell better than others!) Well, no story of a garden can take place without fertilizer and that means even the “spiritual garden” we often speak of. Continue reading Have You Really Thought About What Helps You To Grow?
